Part 5
Shadow was still lost in the darkness. Mephiles had turned the once beautiful world into a living hell. Her soul was erased from existence, for all that he knew. That thing, he thought, was released into this world by accident. It wasn't even Mephiles's fault, for the birth on the creature. He at one time, tried to kill it, yet he had failed.

Amy was lying in a patch of grass not far from the Realm, with Mephiles beside her. She stared up at the darkening sky and the twinkling stars that were lightening up the darkness.
"Mephiles?"
"Yes, Amy?"
"What will you do after the eclipse?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Because earlier you said-"
"Hmm?"
"Nevermind. I'm just curious."
"Amy, can you promise me something?"
"Can I trust you?"
"No, but, that's-"
"If you are going to make me hurt someone single handedly-"
"No, of course not. I won't force you to do anything like that at the moment."
"Oh. Then what did you want me to. . .?" Mephiles turned towards her and stared in to her fiery red eyes with his.
"Promise me, that you will never let me hurt you in any way. I don't want you to cause you any more pain."
"Uh. . .I promise." Amy once again was uncomfortable around him. She flinched when she looked into his green eyes.
"Oh. Sorry."
"No, it's not that it's-"
"Why are you afraid of me?"
"Good question." Amy whispered. Mephiles sighed, and sat up. His eyes were still fixed on her.
"What do you see in him?" he asked.
"Who?"
"Shadow."
"Well," she sighed,"I'm not sure if I can explain that. He may seem depressed on the outside, but on the inside he is very kind and caring. I've taken time to know him, so. . ."
"You are a strange girl. I like you."
"Err. . . Thanks."
"Your very welcome." Mephiles looked up at the sky and there was an awkward silence.

Shadow and Sonic had arrived in Soleanna by casting their Chaos Control. They were on a plaza overlooking a palace of some sort.
"So. . .where to Shadow?"
"That palace."
"Ok, but there is one problem."
"Eggman." They both said in unison.

2012 Edits -- Wow, lots of errors in this as I look back, and I'm feeling the nostalgia heheh. I write much differently than this. . .might continue along with this someday, dunno if I'd be able to pull it off anymore though.
